Football played at the highest level requires the collection and analysis of player and team performance data together with match data, and subsequently applying the insights that have been gained.
FIFA has in line with goal 3 of the Strategic objectives 2023-2027 also been embracing technology to maximise player welfare and ensure medical services of the highest standards at its competitions. Such initiatives have included the implementation of video replay at all matches in FIFA tournaments, a remote injury-spotting system based on scientifically-validated guidelines and the use of medical replay tablets by team doctors at FIFA competitions to review injury mechanisms.
